Ice!

The day started with more straight roads through seemingly never-ending mud flats but by lunch time we arrived at Jokulsarlon - the lake of the glacier. The 2 km lake separates the glacier from the sea and is full of recently born icebergs. We took a boat ride on the lake to get a closer view.

The day ended with more mudflats - but with a tailwind this time which makes the going much easier. And after stopping for homemade ice-cream in the middle of nowhere we arrived for the night at Hofn, pronouced "hiccup". Since we normally only 'speak' Icelandic to each other, when there is occasion to speak to local people it can be quite embarassing.
