Turning the Corner

Today saw the end of the glacier and the beginnings of the rugged, mountainous east coast. We "turned the corner" and started heading north, dipping in and out of fjords that make getting from here to there, much longer.



The weather has been improving over the past few days and today was perfect. We feel very fortunate. Perhaps this is our share of good luck overdue from past trips?

Just before arrival in Djupivogur, we encountered our first stretch of unpaved road and discovered that while the surface isn't too bad, it seems these sections have no limit on gradient.
